Another Quick Fact: A family friend of mine from Nova Scotia (eastern Canada) loved to read about the cowboys out in Canada’s “wild west”. He read books about how the cowboys would say “whoa” to get a horse to stop. Since he had only read the word, he assumed it was pronounced “hoo-ah”. (Makes sense when you look at the spelling, right? “who-a”). However… it’s pronounced “woe”!
