Teen Art Camp – Ages 13-17

This brand new art camp is specially designed for teens wanting to grow their skills, learn more drawing techniques, and try new art forms.

WHO ARE THE INSTRUCTORS?

Crystal will be team-teaching with a fabulous guest instructor. Between the two of them, your teen will gain unique access to a broad range of experience and knowledge from these two full time professional artists.

WHEN:
July 11-15 (Mon.-Fri.)

WHAT WILL WE DO?
Choose from three options:

1. DRAWING
   (Mornings: 9:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.)
   We’ll focus on drawing and illustrating techniques including blending, shading and using colour. Are there styles you’ve always wanted to try? Specific techniques you’re curious about? Something you’re struggling with? We’d love to help you explore those, too.
2. MIXED MEDIA
   (Afternoons: 1p.m. – 3:30 p.m.)
   Expand your art skills by trying many different types of art supplies! Learn a ton of skills and discover new art forms you love. We are still designing the camp so let us know if there’s something you’d love to try! Some ideas we have are: coffee stain art, sculptures, printmaking, zines, hidden poetry, surrealism… the possibilities are endless.
3. ALL THINGS ART
   (Full Days: 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.):
   Jam as much creativity as possible into your summer – join the morning AND afternoon camps! Focus on learning specific drawing techniques then get experimental and try a ton of different art supplies! The best of both worlds. Plus get a bonus hour for free time (12-1pm) to eat lunch then use our awesome supplies to work on whatever you want!

LOCATION:
Sheep Creek Arts Council (SCAC), 133 Sunset Blvd., Turner Valley (Walking distance to the pool, spray park and library!)

WHAT TO BRING?

• Lunch (for full day campers), snacks & water bottle. A sink, fridge and microwave are available.
• Clothes and shoes that can get dirty. Most supplies we use will be washable but it’s possible we may get messy and even stained.
• Sunscreen and a hat.
• All art supplies are included in your fees! You are welcome to bring your own as well.

REGISTRATION FORM:
After your purchase you will be sent a link within 48 hours to complete a registration form and waiver.

SUBSIDIZED FEES (limited quantity) are generously sponsored by the Sheep Creek Arts Council for low in come families in Turner Valley, Black Diamond and rural Foothills. They cover 80% of your camp fees, to a maximum of $200/child. You will be responsible to pay the remaining fee amount. If you are concerned that you don’t quite qualify for the subsidy but cannot afford camp please contact Crystal at crystal@artwithcrystal.com. SPECIAL SUPPORT:
We do our best to accommodate a range of needs, within our instructors’ abilities, to allow children to have the most positive, successful week possible. If your child requires special support please contact Crystal at crystal@artwithcrystal.com to discuss whether we are able to provide the proper support needed.

SCAC MEMBERSHIP:
Students must be Sheep Creek Arts Council (SCAC) members. The cost is $20 for the calendar year and is included in the camp fees.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
A $15.00 administration fee will apply to all cancellations.  Full refund (minus admin fee) 14 days prior to camp start date.  No refund within 7 days prior to camp start date (unless child’s spot can be filled).
